unrecognizable man resting on couch in flat at night

In The Box Room

by

in

I Cry Sanctuary

this little box of a room

eight feet high and wide and long

is just big enough

to lose myself

inside

these walls

contain boundless thoughts

hold nothing back

are insubstantial

existential

only when I think of them

in the darkness

I am anywhere

in the lamplight

I am still there

wherever I wish to be

I can see

beyond these petty walls

I can be

what I could have been

what I should have been

in here

this little box of a room

just big enough

to hide myself

inside
