A Wedding

today they will wake

on their wedding day

memories will be made

there will be kisses

there will be celebration

there will be tears

and laughter in the rain

in a later lifetime

they will look back

on this day

on these images

and they will try to recall

the love they made

the words they spoke

and the songs they sang

on that day of joy and terror

of ceremony and commitment

and wonder together at the end

who those two people were

and where all that time went
